"Purty Cats"

6x8

oil on masonite

I went to an art festival at the Montgomery Museum of Art recently. It was a beautiful day. There were children drawing on the pavement in these nice squared off areas. What a "feast of color".  Couldn't resist the bright red background of this one. There were several artisans demonstrating their abilities as well.

Absolutely beautiful!

Love the red as well, and the war reflection on the girl's left arm.
Stunning painting!

Have you seen the work of Laurel Burch? She is famous for these colorful cats and other animals.

Thanks Dawn, I had not heard of her but I recognized the "look" of her work. I love it.. I was saddened to see that she passed away in 2007. I bet the young artists that worked on the chalk art knew of her work.
